ASEAN-India Youth Exchange Program (Day 1 and 2)

Mumbai: 10 – 14 December 2012

Our first stop in India was Mumbai. We ( Team Malaysia) arrived at the Chattrapati Shivaji International Airport around 2240hrs and boarded the bus that was chartered to take us to the hotel. Mind you, but the traffic in Mumbai was crazy congested even at that time with honking everywhere. First culture shock. To be honest, I wasn’t really expecting something great for our accommodation since it was all sponsored. I was so wrong! My jaw dropped when the bus reached the entrance of the hotel. Courtyard by Marriott, Mumbai. Great, I thought! We got down from the bus, scanned out bags and luggage and they even scanned us before letting us enter the hotel. Our coordinators were already there before us. Shortly after, we were given ou room keys and were told to get enough rest.

My super awesome hotel room that I shared with another participant from Malaysia.

Day 2:  ( 11th) was just spent in the hotel and mingling with the other participants from Laos and Indonesia who were in the same group as us.

And this is the view from our hotel room. It was situated along a busy street. Right in front of our hotel there was a school, cinema and a few shops lots.

I must say, we were very pampered by the organizers from CII and they were so friendly and helpful. They gave us the day off because they wanted us to recover from the traveling sickness etc. How sweet and thoughtful of them! After lunch we had a short briefing and surpriseeeee!! The organizers gave us all INR 6000 as an allowance for our trip! How awesome is that! I loved them more for that 😀

After that, we just walked about in the hotel, took some pictures and waited for dinner time hahah…the buffet spread was awesome..till I got sick of the same menu everyday :S

So, that’s basically my first 2 days in India. It started of pretty well and got better later 🙂 More blog posts coming soon! Keep watching this space! 🙂
