templing in Angkor Wat

So it was time to punch another hole on our 3-days entrance pass (we purchased for 3 days because we did not want to rush) to the Angkor Wat and other temple complexes around it.
We slept late on the first night, so we decided to wake up late the next day, take a chilled trip to see the Wat, Our hotel people, being the awesome people they are told us that the ride from our hotel to anywhere was FREE one way. How not to love this place?
Anyhow, we woke up at 9, had our breakfast and left for our small tour at Angkor Wat and Bayon temple. For your info, they have different kinds of tours and it all depends on how many temples you want to see and your pass duration. We took the small tour for the second day because we had something else planned for the afternoon.
Words cannot describe how it felt to be standing in the midst of magnificent remains of several capitals of the Khmer Empire of the 9th to the 15th centuries. Everything about it was so breathtaking; the sculptures, the carvings, even the ruins…
I’m not going to bore you with the history of the Angkor Wat and Khmer civilization here, you can Google that on your own, okay? Here are some pictures of our excursion to the 2 most iconic Khmer temples.

Angkor Wat

Not to demotivate or anything, but if you have bad knees, you wouldn’t enjoy the temple excursions here. A LOT of climbing up and down.
Bayon Temple in Angkor Thom
Stone Heads of Bodhisattva Avilokiteshvara, Bayon temple.

Beautiful ruins.
p/s: Just try to dress appropriately when you visit these temples. As you can see in one of my pictures, people still worship in the Angkor Wat.
